Women's Circles - collective & inner wisdom circles

I’ve passed through various routes, engaging in various courses, texts and so on to get to the beauty of the ancient notion of the women’s circle. And through a very beautiful and wise soul I was lead towards NUSHU Facilitator training (which is described below), which allowed me to integrate my interest in literature and bibliotherapy with the idea of sharing in circle, sharing in community - because I saw that through women’s circles I was able to combine so much more — it brings together both the personal and the social elements that so nourish us, and which society rarely affords us.

So I’m offering these spaces to you, with various themes and notions to explore together (and alone), to be able to give you that time back to yourself - for growth and sustenance which is mental, physical and spiritual.

Thanks to women’s circles I’ve been able to create friendships which led to collaborations with some gorgeous souls - you’ll find my collaborative work in the Events section under ‘Recentering.Circles’ and ‘Still.Point.Circles’

Thank you for being here

What is NUSHU?

It’s something very simple really, so simple it’s hard to express in words. . .but I’m gonna try.

I’ve found that NUSHU is the space that allows for the creation of community, authentic connection and mental clarity. It brings together like-minded women and men from different walks of life to learn and grow together; a collective wisdom arises from a space of self-awareness, as all are seen, heard, respected, treated with compassion and non-judgement - it’s the practice of common decency really, and I’d love to share it with you.

If you’d like to explore offerings from other facilitators from all over the world I encourage you to do so, it’s all about finding that person you really connect with after all.

Current Offerings (2023)

On Love & Loss - Sat january 7 to Sat february 11 (6 weeks)

This series is an exploration of the ways in which we have experienced both love and loss as individuals, as well as how we experience them in literature. We will also have the time to reflect on how they are often intertwined, along with the different types/forms of love and loss.

On Creativity 1 - Sat February 25 to Sat March 11 (3 weeks)

In the first part to this ‘On Creativity’ series we will be exploring the dangers of a neglected creative spirit - how it can be easily polluted, grow stagnant, shapeshift and so too how, once we are aware, we can renew, reclaim and transform our creative spirit.

On Creativity 2 - Sat March 18 to Sat Arpil 1 (3 weeks)

Here we will explore, again through story, how the creative spirit nourishes us. We will delve into the phases and forms our creative spirit takes depending on our moods and emotions (which are all important), the lessons to be learnt and what to look out for, as well as giving more time and thus value to our creative endeavours.

  • Very important note: ‘On Creativity 1 & 2’ are a very different take and use very different material to my collaborative 12-week course ‘Centering on Creativity’ - if you’d like to delve deeper into your creative spirit and make time for your creative routine then please look at the Recentering.Circles event.

On Mothering - Sat April 15 to Sat May 20 (6 weeks)

In this series we will be exploring the notion of re-mothering and re-parenting ourselves. We’re going to be looking at mothering in all it’s forms through the tale of ‘The Ugly Duckling’.

What kind of mothers do we want to be to ourselves and to others?

This series will be happening again in August with - Recentering.Circles

On Homing - Sat July 1 to Sat July 15 (3 weeks)

Homing - returning to ourselves after burnout.

There is a point, or various points in our life, which require as well as demand of us to go deep within. Here' we’ll be exploring a story that helps us to pause and act accordingly in order for our spirit to survive - especially when we’ve been away from home for too long and are experiencing burnout (the starving of the soul).

Here we’ll be exploring the fairy tale of ‘Vasalisa the Wise’ and go through the importance of washing, cooking, cleaning, and sorting, and how they relate on a deeper level to our lives.

Past Offerings (2022)

On Change - 6 weeks

Change is a funny thing, in one way it’s our constant companion and so I’d like to explore what ‘change’ means to you, what changes you’ve experienced in life and what changes you’d like to experience, what changes would you like to see in your life - let’s share, let’s build, let’s be grateful, together.

On Settling - 6 weeks

In this 6 week series we’ll be exploring what the word ‘settling’ means to you, we’ll look into the ways in which we settle, as well as when and how we don’t settle, the reasons behind settling and un-settling, while also opening up to the possibility that settling needn’t always be negative - it has it’s own positive side.

On Rage - 3 weeks

Rage and anger are quite interesting and important emotions, during these 3 weeks we’ll explore how they can be our teachers, through literature. We’ll read at least two stories from which the prompts for our sessions will emerge and from which we’ll be able to contemplate and reflect on rage, anger and forgiveness. These are not emotions to be buried, they are different forms of our creative expression, there to be understood and transformed.
