Our Routs

sustaining from within

. . .

- a way of returning to balance -

I am an intuitive wellness coach who empowers women on their journey of deep self-discovery,

to lead a more balanced, confident and creative life by implementing presence, connection and community in their daily lives

. . .

So that’s me, Ruth! The roots and routes of Common Routs (and yes, as you can see I love to play with language) lie in my passion for the Arts and the notion of a common humanity - that there is more that connects us than divides us, and the beauty of focusing on the former. As much as Common Routs evolves, which is only natural as I too continue to evolve, I feel very secure in the knowing that I will always be true to myself and to my purpose.

The inspiring forms of alternative therapy fascinated me since studying for my B.A. which was in English and Psychology. But I still felt that I wanted to explore the nourishing qualities of literature, it had and still has a certain hold on me, and so I chose to continue my studies in English, literature in particular. I can still remember one of my many “Aha!” moments which came from being exposed to the works of Joseph Campbell. My world, and my mind, was opened up to possibilities. The humanities, art, mythology, literature, philosophy and psychology are so intertwined and so captivating - they are my drive, they inspire all that you see in my work. It perhaps will come as no great surprise to know that my Masters thesis focused on the Boundarylessness, or the Boundaryless nature of literature, of life.

Common Routs, in many ways is a continuation into this exploration - from theory into practice, as I live and encounter my own boundarylessness and that of “others”.

I share this with you as a form of gratitude - for all that has influenced me, for what is yet to come, for all that is known and not known - thank you for being (here).

My work - from the literature courses to the NUSHU groups and the work well-being series as well as health coaching - come together as they are intuitive and holistic in nature. The literature courses (check Listening to Literature I and II; Deep Listening) are geared and allow for the finding of voice and creative spirit, while the weekend workshops are inspired by nature, which is a source of nourishment and guidance. Community is also a very important element in my life, and this area comes out in my Women’s Circle groups most especially. Because of community and finding my tribe I have gratefully met some wonderful teachers and friends along the way - this is how Recentering.Circles started (Dr. Nic Choren was first my mentor during NUSHU training and our friendship flourished into these collaborative rematriation gatherings) and Still.Point.Circles (Michelle Bartolo and I actually met over a decade before we re-connected and started our collaboration aimed towards balance).

I seek authenticity, as solitude and genuine connection have become increasingly important to me. Because how do we find our tribe? This is an important question, and is found perhaps as the writing, the literature that is meant for us finds us. I very much believe that many of the answers we seek are held within, and that all that is required to find them is to pause and listen, reflect and act. By building stronger roots and routes, I hope to offer the space to find grounding and trust in one’s intuition, “for there is nothing lost, that may be found, if sought” (Spenser).

Common Routs is made to be a space of respect, understanding, appreciation, accountability, integrity, growth and authenticity.

Let’s grow together!

Much love, Ruth

And. . .

if you’re a wanderer too I think you’ll be interested in ‘Our Blog’ section where I explore and write about things that interest / surprise / awe me. It’s a space I’ve named ruthless - partly because it’s a play on my name Ruth, and because I believe being ruthless in our pursuits is vital. Since I try to look at things and words from multiple perspectives I’m taking ruthless not to mean: un-feeling, unpitying, inhumane, cruel (well maybe cruel to be kind) but rather it’s about that indomitable will and being real when it comes to others and most importantly to myself. It’s about being True at all costs and this is what Common Routs is all about - being true to our Being
